DGR CPA: Profile

Dennis G. Redd, CPA

I began my professional career in 1972 with Arthur Young & Company auditing both public companies and privately owned businesses. In 1976, I joined a local Overland Park firm, and became a partner in 1978. There, I had significant experience in income tax planning and return preparation as well as auditing small businesses. In 1982, the local firm merged with a regional firm, and as a professional corporation shareholder, I managed the small business accounting department in addition to providing audit and tax services.

In 1989, I left public accounting for an opportunity in private industry, and became the chief financial officer for a privately owned manufacturing and wholesale distribution business. I developed expertise in budgeting, cash management, insurance, human resources, fringe benefits, and strategic planning, in addition to continuing to provide tax services for several clients. In November of 1993, I started my own practice, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

I hold a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from Kansas State University. I hold CPA certificates in both Kansas and Missouri, and am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of CPAs. I have served four years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas Society and one year as President of the local Metro Chapter.
